This is a unique and new role within our Finance team reporting into the Finance Director. You will have responsibility for the management accounts and for the Payroll of the UK company. You will form part of our finance team and will work very closely with the Finance Director to ensure we have a full suite of management accounts and reports. The role will offer a great opportunity to work with the Finance Director to assess the set-up of financial and management reporting to offer suggestions of improvement to processes and procedures. So, this role is an opportunity to really add value to how finance is done in the future at Oleeo.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Produce the monthly management accounts pack within agreed timescales for the Finance Director and leadership team at Oleeo.
  • Provide meaningful commentary on the Profit and Loss both within the month end pack and by presenting to the Finance Director.
  • Process payroll on a monthly basis using Morepay Payroll including :
  • Providing expert advice on variance analysis, investigation and reporting.
  • Assist the Financial Director in the production of budgets and revised forecasts
  • Effectively handle queries from key budget holders, and proactively help them to manage costs in their areas of the business
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns on a quarterly basis
  • Assist the Finance Director in operating and improving internal controls within the finance function
  • Assist Financial Director in the weekly review of debtors and creditors
  • Ability to communicate and explain finance to non-financial managers assisting in the Financial Planning process and able to develop supportive relationships with key internal stakeholders, and within the finance team.
  • Assist with audit, when required, and year end accounts.
  • Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Financial Director

Skills Required

  • CIMA or ACCA qualified
  • Management accounting experience
  • Experience of month end close and adherence to deadlines
  • Experience of variance analysis, investigation and reporting
  • Sound understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ability to pick up the Morepay Payroll system quickly and general system knowledge. It is not essential to have worked with Morepay or run payroll before, but we are looking for the desire and ability to learn Morepay and our payroll system. Opportunity here to offer suggestions of improvement for the future.
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of Sage Accounting system desirable
  • Ability to interpret financial information and present for non-accountants
